For Rick, building a successful company has always been about more than sales. It is about building people.

As Co-Founder of Shark Coatings, Rick helped build the sales process and culture that have shaped the company from the beginning. Today, he works closely with Shark’s sales managers and sales professionals, coaching and mentoring the team while making sure the processes behind the customer experience are followed consistently.

Rick’s experience in the home improvement industry began long before Shark. He started his career working with custom home builders in the Midwest, overseeing residential construction from the ground up through closing. From there, he became a sales manager for one of the largest home improvement companies in the country before going on to help build another successful ceramic coatings company for residential and commercial services.

That experience gave Rick an understanding of both sides of the business: what it takes to build a strong company and what it takes to create an experience customers remember.

But when Rick talks about what he enjoys most about Shark, he does not point to sales numbers or company growth. He points to the people.

Hearing team members share how their opportunities at Shark have changed not only their own lives, but the lives of their families, is one of the most rewarding parts of what he has helped build. Rick credits his faith for giving him the wisdom to help others and his wife for helping keep him grounded along the way.
